A Visitor from Indonesia

Well, tomorrow, Greg and I are extremely excited because our second cousin, Syeren, is coming to visit us for the weekend! Syeren is from Jakarta, Indonesia, and we met her for the first time when we were there this June. We clicked pretty much immediately, as she and her family were pretty much our tourguides the entire time we were there -- she took us shopping, translated for us (Greg and I don't know what we would have done without her! My dad kept forgetting to translate -- sometimes, he would just start speaking to us in Indonesian by accident.), made sure to take us to all the best places to eat (and introduced us to a LOT of new, strange foods, including beef lung and a mushy avocado drink), and hiked down a volcano with us. We are excited to be part of her first visit to the States -- she is currently staying in New York taking English classes (although her English is pretty amazing already!). We aren't yet sure what the weekend will consist of -- wait, scratch that. There will be eating. Syeren shares the Curnutte passion for food. Actually, she surpasses our love of food times ten. Which makes her very compatible as a family member :0) We think we'll keep her!
